Westmeath County Council is being praised for its efforts to keep amenities clean this summer.

The extra staff are recruited every summer to compliment the full-time Community and Litter Wardens on weekends and bank holidays during the busy, summer season.

The number of Seasonal Amenity Wardens was doubled this year to ensure the county's tourist hotspots were well-maintained.
