Westmeath Falls Below National Average In Commercial Vacancies

Laois and Offaly both rated above the average.

Two of the three midlands counties were above the national average in commercial vacancy rates, as of December 2023.

Offaly and Laois recorded rates of 15.9% percent and 14.8% percent respectively, while Westmeath fell below at 12.7%.

According to the GeoDirectory Commercial Buildings Report, the average increased by 0.3% points to 14.3% the highest level reported since the report began in 2013.

Sligo recorded the highest rate across the country, while Meath had the lowest.
