Members of the Ward family appeared before Athlone District Court this week.
Four people accused of being involved in a violent incident involving an axe and sledgehammer with a rival family in a Midlands town have been banned from social media, according to the Irish Independent.
45 year old Joe Ward, 19 year old Gerry Ward, and Winne Ward who is 44 years old, all of whom along with a teenage co-accused, are from Blackberry Lane in Athlone in Westmeath are facing a number of charges after appearing at Athlone District Court this week.
Gerry and Joe Ward are being charged for violent disorder involving five other people on the 20th and 21st of December last year.
Winnie Ward is charged with violent disorder on December 21st, while the 17 year old co accused is facing three charges which include possessing a sledgehammer, and one of the alleged possession of a long stick that was "capable of inflicting serious injury".
The three adults have ordered to stay away from Bernard, Debbie, Lucy McDonagh and their children, obey a curfew, stay off social media entirely.
A disclosure order for the prosecution's defence was made to their solicitor who was absent from the hearing due to the ongoing legal aid dispute with the Justice Department.
All four are remanded on bail to appear before the court again October 7th.
