A Westmeath footballer star, who is telling his story of drug and alcohol addiction, could be saving people's lives and may never know about it.
That's according to the Athlone Drug Awareness Group.
Luke Loughlin says he first experimented with alcohol at the age of 14, before moving on to drugs including pills and cocaine.
The 30 year old has been telling TDs and Senators the help and treatment he received has saved his life.
