"A future worth staying for" - that's the theme of an upcoming meeting between EU politicians in a Westmeath town this Wednesday.
The European Committee of the Regions Bureau will discuss "Thriving and sustainable communities" at the Mullingar Park Hotel.
The advisory body consists of members from local and regional authorities across all 27 EU member states.
It will sign the "Mullingar Declaration' at the meeting, which aims to put in place a European strategy to encourage people to work and live in their hometown.
Reps will also visit Belvedere House and Gardens to see how it's benefited from the EU Just Transition fund.
