Westmeath Leads New Car Registrations In The Midlands

Over 4,000 new cars were registered in the midlands for the first time last year.

Dublin and Cork had the most amount of cars registered for the first time in 2022.

Between the two counties there were over 48,000 - which makes up 47 per cent of the national total.

Over 4,000 new cars were registered in the midlands for the first time last year - 1,704 in Westmeath, 1,296 in Laois and 1,285 in Offaly.

CSO figures show Volkswagen, Hyundai and Tesla were the most popular electric cars licensed last year.
