Briain Smyth takes over from Seamus Boland.

A Westmeath man is set to take over as the new CEO of Irish Rural Link.

Moate's Briain Smyth takes over from Ballycumber's Seamus Boland in the role with over 30 years experience across agri-business, renewable energy development, and sustainability consulting.

He is also the co-founder of Biotricity and formulated a vision in 2018 to redevelop the former ESB peat station in Rhode into a green energy hub.
