Rentokill is advising people to be on the look-out for the bugs as the temperature drops.

Westmeath accounts for the third most call-outs for cockroach infestations in the country.

The figures have been revealed by Rentokill, who are advising people to be on the look-out for the bugs coming into the colder period.

Dublin ranks first in the country, accounting for 44% of the call-outs.

Sligo is next, at 25%, and Westmeath is third, at 6%.

Keeping the house clean, binning food and emptying the bins regularly are some of Rentokill's advise for keeping cockroaches out of the home.
