The Mullingar Sports Complex applications will feature two facilities at Blackhall and Robinstown.
Westmeath County Council will submit planning applications this week for the projects related to the Mullingar Regional Sports Complex.
The long awaited complex features two different community-based, multi-sport facilities at Blackhall and Robinstown, the council said in a statement last Friday.
An eight-lane 25m swimming pool with spectator seating, a 20m teaching pool and splash pad are just some of the proposed development plans at the Blackhall sports facilities.
The sports complex will contain a multi-use sports hall with 12 badminton courts as well as three basketball courts, a gym, studios, meeting rooms and changing rooms all set to be built.
At the Robinstown site, three all-purpose, all-weather pitches will be constructed alongside four padel courts, an outdoor basketball court, a walking trail and a playground.
A pavilion structure with three specific indoor training areas, restrooms, locker rooms and additional ammenities are also part of plans.
Westmeath County Council will host a public information evening in the Atrium at Westmeath Council Buildings in Mullingar, today from 4 to 8 o'clock, where the public can meet the design team and see the proposals.
Planning applications will then be lodged on July 25 and will be on public display until 26 August.
