Mullingar is receiving the award.
A Westmeath town is being awarded a Purple Flag for its night-time economy.
The accreditation looks at making town and city centers more diverse in what they offer in the evening time and early hours of the morning.
The assessment carried out last November felt there was plenty to offer in music, preformance and the arts enhancing the town's cultural vibrancy.
They also note a dedication to safety with the Garda Community Bus and Community First responders on hand.
