A Westmeath town is set to see its first official pride parade this weekend.
Heartlands Pride in Athlone is overseeing the event tomorrow, after months of community fundraising in the biggest event of their Pride Festival.
The route starts at Dooley's Flowers at 1pm and will head towards Burgess Park for 2pm for an outdoor festival and family fun day.
It's the first time the Heartlands committee has held an event during the summer months, after successful Winter Pride outings.
