A Westmeath woman is doing what she can for nursing home staff in need of protective equipment.
Ashling Byrne from Athlone has set up an online fundraiser, as well as a collection outside Tesco in the Golden Island Shopping Centre.
She's appealing to people to donate whatever they can, and with an initial target of €150, just under €400 has been raised so far.
She's using the money to buy gloves, masks, aprons and other protective items, and will distribute them to nursing homes that are in short supply:
