Wine Consumption On The Rise In Ireland, While Beer Drops

That's according to new figures from Revenue.

103 million litres of wine was consumed in Ireland last year.

It represents an increase of 12 percent compared to 2019, according to new figures from the Revenue.

The amount of beer consumed was down by 17 percent and cider by 11 percent, while there a small increase for spirits.

Director of Operations at Mullingar-based Wines Direct, Gavin Keogh says the increase in home cooking can partly explain it:
