Kildare South TD Martin Heydon says he wants to listen to rural communities at regional conferences.

Fine Gael is discussing ways to reduce the cost of living in rural Ireland. 

The party's holding the first of its regional conferences in Cork tonight to discuss the challenges facing the rural and agriculture sector.

The event will hear of the challenges faced by farmers due to the war in Ukraine, which has had a major impact on their production costs.
