St Brendans Community School in Birr had works approved in 2018.
Works for an Offaly secondary school have been further delayed by the Department of Education.
St Brendans Community School in Birr have been told their project cannot be authorised due to a new implimentation programme of the National Development Plan.
It means they're currently assessing all works from 2026 to 2030, and cannot approve it until the new programme is published in full.
An ASD wing, an extension to the building and glazing upgrades are included in the works which were originally given the green light in 2018.
