Over 120,000 people have been on trolleys in 2023.
2023 is the worst year on record for hospital overcrowding.
That's according to the nursing union, the INMO.
Figures from the organisation show more than 121,000 people have gone without a bed this year.
Over 3,000 people have been on trolleys around the midlands this year, with the majority of those in Mullingar Regional Hospital.
University Hospital Limerick and Cork University Hospital were the most over-crowded facilities.
