A yellow alert for rain will come into effect for the Midlands and 14 other counties from 11pm tonight.
All of Leinster and counties Waterford, Tipperary, Cork, Monaghan and Cavan will be subject to the warning for 24 hours.
There will also be a rain/snow warning for Donegal from 2am.
