It will be in place from Saturday morning.
A Yellow wind warning has been issued for the midlands as Storm Kathleen heads towards Ireland this weekend.
Met Eireann says the storm will bring gale force winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.
The alert will in effect for the entire country from Saturday at 7am until 8pm.
A status orange alert will come into effect in Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo at the same time, but will end at 5pm.
Met Éireann is advising people possible impacts include very difficult travel conditions, fallen trees, some power outages and coastal flooding.
