Students are focusing on issues that affect their day to day lives.
Midlands students are encouraged to get their thinking caps on ahead of the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
Applications are due before September 26th for the STEM-based event in January.
Last year there were 40 projects from 10 schools across the midlands that qualified for the competition.
Next year will mark the first in-person event at Dublin's RDS since 2020.
