The 42 year old won a Leinster title with Laois in 2003.
The Portlaoise Senior Footballers will be under new management for the 2024 season.
Former Laois player Aidan Fennelly will take over the side from Kevin Fitzpatrick, as his tenure came to an end after defeat to St Joseph's in the county final.
Fennelly is a well known face to the O'Moore county people, having been part of the Laois team that won the Leinster Senior Football Championship title in 2003.
He also won eight county titles and two Leinster's with Portlaoise as a player.
