Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell both carded 2 under par rounds of 68 on day one of the WGC St Jude Invitational in Memphis, but Rory McIlroy slumped to a 3 over par round of 73.
That round of 68, including five birdies and a double bogey on the par 3 11th hole, leaves Lowry in a tie for 15th.
The Open Champion will start his second round around 5:30 this evening alongside Dustin Johnson and Tyrell Hatton.
The lead of held on 8 under par by American Brooks Koepka.
