A number of local club players will be hoping to make the final squad.
Ireland’s top amateur football stars have been drawn against Bulgaria, Romania and San Marino in the qualifying stages next October for the return of the UEFA Regions Cup 2022-23 tournament.
Winners of the tournament for the first time in 2015, the FAI representatives will be looking to repeat that historic feat when they commence the qualification process in Bulgaria from October 23rd next.
Speaking after today’s draw, Ireland Amateur team manager Gerry Davis said:
“We look forward to the return of the UEFA Regions Cup next year after the COVID-19 enforced break. As previous winners of this prestigious tournament, we know what a great opportunity it is for our players to represent the Irish amateur game in a UEFA tournament. Everybody involved in amateur football in Ireland will look forward to seeing our representatives in qualifying stage action against Romania, Bulgaria and San Marino in Bulgaria next October.”
