Former Tullamore RFC flyer Megan burns got her name on the scoresheet yesterday.
Portarlington's Alanna Fitzpatrick, Tullamore's Megan Burns, and Team Ireland have come away from their Olympic debut with an 8th placed finish.
After shipping a heavy defeat to Australia in their quarter final, Fitzpatrick, Burns, and co, entered into the 5th to 8th place play-off.
Ireland went down to France in their play-off semi-final, losing to the hosts, 19-7.
That loss was followed by a second meeting with Great Britain yesterday evening.
Despite Megan Burns sixth minute try, Britain ran out 14 point winners.
