The Clonbullogue racer impressed testing F2 machinery at the end of last year.
Alex Dunne is set to receive major support from an Offaly business in his bid to eventually secure a seat on the F1 grid.
Condron Concrete in Tullamore will support Dunne's racing ambitions for 2025, and 2026.
The McLaren junior driver completed his first season on the World Championship stage in FIA Formula Three in 2024, picking up two podiums finishes on the way to a 14th place championship finish.
Dunne recently tested F2 machinery at an end of season test in Abu Dhabi for Rodin Motorsport.
The 19 year old impressed setting the third fastest time over three days.
The 2022 British F4 Champion says: “I am incredibly grateful to Condron Concrete for believing in me and supporting my journey towards competing in Formula 1. This partnership means the world to me, not only because it provides the resources I need to push for a new chapter in my career but also because it comes from a company that shares my Offaly roots and values."
John Condron, Managing Director of Condron Concrete, says he's enthusiastic about the partnership: “We are immensely proud to support Alex on his journey to the pinnacle of motorsport. . .I am really excited about the season ahead having seen his fantastic performances recently while F2 testing in Abu Dhabi. As a company rooted in Offaly, we couldn’t be more delighted to champion one of our own as he competes on the global stage.”
Dunne has already been confirmed as one of McLaren's Formula E development and reserve drivers, and will be hoping to secure a seat on this year's F2 grid.
The championship is notoriously difficult to secure a drive in, however with considerable sponsorship, and his impressive on-track record, it looks like his prosects are getting stronger as the season approaches.
The first race of the Formula 2 campaign begins in Melbourne, Australia on March 15th.
