The win moves the Laois side up to 6th on scoring difference, just three points from 3rd place.
Meanwhile their Galway opponents remain bottom having lost all 12 league games.
Keith Conroy's side now have the weekend off with their next game scheduled for Saturday the 15th of February against Dublin side Killester in Clontarf.
