Lowry missed out on victory at the Cognizant Classic last week.
An Offaly golfer says some advice from his 9 year old daughter helped him gain some perspective following his loss at the Coginzant Classic in Florida at the weekend.
Shane Lowry was taking his daughter to school during the week and stopped off at a Starbucks on the way, as it was her birthday.
He said friends and other people at the cafe who recognised him were consoling him after his tournament defeat, when his daughter remarked, "Dad, why is everyone acting so sad that you finished second? Like, second is good".
The Clara man finished on two-over-par after his opening round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last night.
