Warm Homecoming For Offaly Hurlers After Loss To Tipperary

Many supporters gather in O'Connor Park to welcome the faithful youngsters after a narrow loss to Tipperary.

Supporters gathered to welcome home the Offaly Minor Hurling Panel after they lost out in the All-Ireland Final to Tipperary this weekend.

Offaly GAA organised the homecoming event this evening, which began in O'Connor Park in Tullamore and is finishing in St Brendan's Park in Birr from approximately 8pm.

The Faithful youngsters led throughout the second half of the final, but a Paddy McCormack goal in the fourth minute of injury time gave Tipp a 1-17 to 1-16 win at Nowlan Park.

Offaly Minor Hurling Manager Leo O'Connor has described the late defeat to Tipperary in the All-Ireland Final as a "bitter pill to swallow".
