A very even contest on paper pits last year's beaten finalists against the champions of 2022.
"Anything could happen"
That's Johnny Murray's assessment of the meeting of his Downs side, and Coralstown-Kinnegad in the Westmeath Senior Football Championship semi-finals.
The Downs endured a difficult championship campaign last year, failing to make escape the group section of the compeition in defence of their first title since 2005.
With the exception of one loss to Mullingar Shamrocks, Murray's side cruised through Section B of the championship this year, and followed that with an extra-time win over Athlone in the quarter finals/
Coralstown Kinnegad finished second in Section A, and booked their place in the semi-finals early.
Murray says it promises to be a close encounter:
He looks forward to this weekend with Midlands 103's Kamron Clarke:
Coralstown Kinnegad manager Paschal Kellaghan is hoping a blend of youth and experience across his team's panel will see them return to a county final.
He says his young players are picking up invaluable experience over the last two seasons:
Kellaghan begins his preview of this weekend's semi-final by reflecting on their win last time out over Caulry:
The game throws-in at 4.45pm on Saturday.
