Westmeath GAA Chairman backs Referee Barry Kelly's decision to abandon match, saying that the players welfare was the priority.
Frank Mescall sent his apologies after the Westmeath SHC Final on Sunday.
This is in response to the clash of Castletown Geoghegan and Lough Lene Gaels was abandoned after just 13 minutes.
The Gaels were 0-2 to 0-0 ahead when referee Barry Kelly called off the match due to poor weather conditions.
The Westmeath GAA Chairman also announced details for the replay and says the players were in mind when the decision was made.
