Ciaran Murphy says he's happy with how his stable star is coming along.
Westmeath trainer Ciaran Murphy is looking forward to running one of his stable stars Enjoy D’allen in Monday’s Paddy Power Chase at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival.
He's currently a 14/1 shot for the €200,000 race over three miles. 45 stand their ground at the moment and the Charlestown Racing stable star won't be one of the 15 to come out of that race and looks set to get a decent weight to allow him run his race.
Murphy says he is a very progressive horse and thinks the step up in trip will be very much to this liking:
He's not slow and he jumps well and sharp and as we seen in the Irish National, he was staying on all the way.
I think probably stepping him up in trip will trigger a little more improvement. As you could see in his hurdle run it was good ground and a sharp two-and-a-half mile track in Fairyhouse and he ways staying on well again.
He ran a very respectable race and I feel anything from two-and-a-half to three-and-a-half miles could suit him because he's just such a a versatile horse.
Enjoy D'allen is continuing his progression from a season in which he ran an extremely pleasing race in the Irish Grand National behind Freewheelin' Dylan and a tilt at that again along with the English equivalent has always been on the radar.
