In the fourth episode of Beyond Barriers we explore the opportunities for employment for people with disabilities.
Una Byrne from Stradbally, who said she would love to see her 19-year-old daughter Leah, who has Down Syndrome, get a job.
She's asking employers to have an open mind when it comes to hiring someone with additional needs:
A number of years ago, Down Syndrome Ireland seen the need for a programme to give opportunities for employment to people with Down Syndrome.
So they designed the National Employment programme to create meaning employment.
They now have 380 people working in different industries across Ireland.
