Kim Kardashian Wearing Marilyn Monroe's Iconic Dress Was A "Genius" Idea

That's according to an Athlone man who helped source the dress for the reality TV star.

Today marks 60 years since Marilyn Monroe performed 'Happy Birthday' for John F Kennedy at Madison Square Gardens.

The iconic white dress worn by the singer made a re-appearance at this year's MET Gala when it was worn by Kim Kardashian.

Athlone's Martin Nolan played an important role in sourcing the dress for the reality star. 

The Executive Director at Julien's Auctions in California believes the dress has doubled in value. 

He's been speaking with Midlands 103's Aidan Barry on "Midlands Today" about how a man from Kiltoom, Athlone, ended up in L.A.:
