The town has been lit every Christmas for the last 40 years.
A midlands town is appealing for help to fund their Christmas lights.
The Portarlington Christmas Tree committee are hoping to keep a 40 year tradition alive of lighting the square every Christmas.
They're hoping to raise €5,000 to cover insurance, electricity and maintenance costs.
