Westmeath Students Are Successful in Garda Youth Awards

Assistant Commissioner, Catharina Gunne presented each of 25 awards.

Students in Westmeath are being celebrated by the Gardaí for their viral road safety campaign.

Scoil Mhuire picked up a Community Safety Award at the National Garda Youth Awards at the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise on Saturday.

The video, which warned young male motorists against texting while driving, received over two million views.

The awards recognise exceptional young people aged 13-21 who have positively contributed to their community.
