The letters were returned to the soldiers daughter.
A World War II soldier's long-lost love letters were recovered after a home renovation in New York this week.
Dottie Kearney, aged 51, was tearing down walls with her husband at the Staten Island property when she found the penned letters.
They belonged to American soldier Claude Smythe, who was writing to his wife Marie while on duty.
The letters were returned to Claude's daughter Carol thanks to help from a TikTok 'heirloom investigator' and a genealogy website.
