12,500 Laois Premises Identified To Have Inadequate Broadband Speeds

National Broadband Ireland is currently surveying the county.

31 per cent of premises in Laois are not being served with adequate internet speeds.

National Broadband Ireland has identified 12,500 homes, farms, businesses and schools not being properly served.

Ballylinan, Killeen, Stradbally, and Vicarstown are among the areas currently being surveyed, to provide a new €49 million new high-speed fibre network to the county.

Community Broadband Connection Points will also be set-up at Vicarstown Community Centre, Emo Community Centre, Oisin House in Rossmore, and Bilboa Post Office.
