The number of people hospitalised with Covid-19 has fallen below 300 for the first time in almost three weeks.
295 people are currently in hospital as a result of the virus, including 38 in ICU.
There are 17 people treated for covid-19 in the midlands hospitals.
13 in Tullamore Regional Hospital and three in Portlaoise, along with one confirmed and one suspected cast in Mullingar.
Two patients in Portlaoise and one in Tullamore are in intensive care - with no ICU beds currently available at either hospital.
The average daily case numbers has halved over the last two weeks, while the 14 day incidence rate is now 202 per 100 thousand people.
