A final decision will be made by An Coimisiún Pleanála early next year.
A large scale housing development in Laois is on hold following an appeal filed with An Coimisiún Pleanála
Laois County Council granted permission for a 174 unit residental development with a creche, subject to 20 conditions earlier this month.
Alan Denton is challenging the layout of the development in Dargan Woods in Borris Wood in Portlaoise.
He believes a proposed pedestrian and cycle breakthrough link was not safeguarded for his nearby estate of Forest Park by the local authority.
The Portlaoise mane is also pointing to concerns about antisocial behaviour, as the current layout would create unmonitored spaces for loitering.
An Coimisiún Pleanála will make a decision on the development by February 2nd.
