Plans for a multi-million-euro housing development in a Midlands town are being rejected over concerns about wastewater treatment capacity.
Longford County Council has rejected plans for 30 new homes beside Stonepark’s Silver Birches estate.
24 of the units were planned as three-bedroom semi-detached houses, alongside six smaller two-bedroom terraced homes.
Local residents lodged appeals, raising concerns about the capacity of the existing sewage treatment plant and highlighting ongoing sewage issues that homeowners on the estate had been experiencing for some time.
