487 jobs are being axed at the Arcadia Group in the Republic of Ireland.
Workers are being made redundant at shops including Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Topman, Wallis, Burtons Menswear, Miss Selfridge and Evans.
Arcadia has Topshop and Wallis stores in Athlone.
Mandate says the redundancies process will start from today, following a meeting between the union and the two liquidators.
