A decision on the proposal is due to be made in July.
Plans are in the pipeline for 49 new homes in a Laois town centre.
Carlow-based company Cubic Housing Limited is seeking planning permission for the development on Patrick Street, Mountmellick.
The proposed units vary from one-bed duplexes to three-bed semi-detached houses.
The plans consist of 23 three-bed semi-detached houses; four three-bed semi-detached houses; eight one-bed duplex units; 10 two-bed semi-detached houses; two two-bed single-storey semi-detached houses; one two-bed two-storey semi-detached house; and one three-bed two-storey semi-detached house; and all associated works.
Submissions on the proposal from the public can be made to Laois County Council up to 22nd June, with a final decision scheduled to be made by 13th July.
