Athlone IT is asking homeowners to consider offering their properties as student accommodation.

The Students’ Union is making the appeal as the college term gets back underway, but many students are still looking for somewhere to live.

A survey for the Irish Independent last month found that every college in the country has increased rents for upcoming year.
