The homelessness figures in Offaly are set to rise - if something is not done about social and affordable housing
That's the view of the Independent Ireland candidate for Offaly Councillor Fergus McDonnell.
It's his second general election run following an unsuccessful campaign in 2011- but he's had a long career in local politics having been re-elected to Offaly County Council in June.
The current Cathaoirleach of Edenderry County Council is focusing his manifesto on immigration and housing- such as reducing VAT on building materials to speed up construction.
