A decision is due at the end of June.
The HSE has applied for planning permission from Laois County Council to begin redeveloping St.Vincent's Nursing Home.
Phase one of the plan is a 50-bed, new build to replace the existing beds, including additional support services.
A second and third phases, which contain a 60-bed, new build and a 20-bed refurbishment of existing space are also in the pipeline but are not part of the initial plan.
A decision is due on the submission on 25th June.
