New MRI Scanner Still Without Sufficient Staff To Operate

The scanner is due to be operational in the coming weeks.

It's "bizarre" there's not enough staff to operate a long-awaited MRI scanner in the midlands.

That's according to Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy, speaking as the equipment is due to be operational in Mullingar Hospital in the coming weeks.

The Friends of Mullingar Hospital have spent years campaigning for the machine, which it says is 'chronically needed.'

Deputy Troy wants the Taoiseach and the Minister for Health to intervene with the HSE on the matter:
