Boaters using the River Shannon are being advised of a closure at Athlone Lock today.
The lock is closed to boat traffic on March 16th to facilitate flood relief works in the town.
It involves the relocation the hydraulic and electrical services along the Shannon.
Waterways Ireland is thanking vessel owners for their co-operation and is apologising for any inconvenience caused.
