A 54-year-old man has been jailed for nine years for running brothels in the midlands and around the country.
Ilamar Rodrigues Ribeiro with an address in Goias, Brazil, also pleaded guilty to money laundering and possessing child abuse material.
The court heard the accused had rented out properties under false pretenses and then used them as brothels.
The properties which were used as brothels were located in Ballymahon, Longford Town, Ballaghadereen, Roscommon town, Kildare town, as well as Carlow, Cavan, Wexford, and Leitrim.
