Buying "Dodgy Boxes" A Form Of Supporting Criminal Activity, Says FACT

A recent operation focused on warnings issued in 10 counties.

Buying so-called "dodgy boxes" supports criminality.

That's the message from intellectual property protection organisation FACT, following its campaign targeting suspected operators of these illegal streaming services.

The operation focused on addresses in 10 counties, including Westmeath, with 22 legal warnings to stop issued in recent weeks.

Cease-and-desist orders instruct those involved to end all illegal streaming activity, or potentially face prosecution. 

FACT's Chief Operating Officer, Eddy Leviten, says there are risks associated with "dodgy-boxes":
