The abolition of VAT for the installation of solar panels on homes is part of what the Green Party are calling the "Solar Revolution".
Tomorrow, cabinet will consider and is expected to sign off on the plan that could save home owners €1,000 on cost.
When combined with the existing 'Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland' grant, it would mean the installation could come to just over five and a half thousand euro on an average home.
