A vigil will be held in solidarity with the family who want to see a consecutive sentence handed down.
A vigil is being held to call for an appeal of the sentence given to the man who's reckless driving caused the death of a Laois student.
Joe Drennan died following a hit-and-run in October 2023 - 21 year old Kieran Fogarty of Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick received a six-and-a-half year sentence for the crime.
However that term will run concurrently with an eight year sentence for a separate offence.
The vigil will take place at the Main Plaza in the University of Limerick, where Mr Drennan studied journalism, at 1:30pm tomorrow afternoon.
